Good location.
Very crowded reception/bar area. Rooms were not well presented, uncomfortable. Overpriced food was left in room and you are charged for anything eaten at the end of the stay. Very much like poor student accomodation

We got stranded in Amsterdam due to the Islandic vulcano, but in all stress that this caused the staff was very helpful, generous and flexible. Basic appartment, small but functional for making your own breakfast, with a very nice bathroom.
A broken window caused a lot of noice from the street. Also cold in the room when we arrived, but that was fixed after contact with the staff.

Excellent value for money and the room was bigger than I was expecting. It is only 2* and that is reflected in the standard of the accommodation; but taking that into account - having a well stocked 'mini-bar' and a very comfy armchair were a bonus.
The only issue I had was checking-in; the reception is in the coffee shop next door and at the time I arrived (early evening) it was busy and it was unpleasant after travelling to be in there for 15 mins in heavy smoke from cannabis. I think it was just unfortunately the time of the day.

Breakfast had a good selection of food, staff polite and helpful.
we requseted the Flo room- but it was given to another group. i was disapointed as we had specificly requested this room upon original booking. Although the shower worked it needed to be replaced as it was awkward to hold whilts showering. Room needed a lick of paint (Sailors Cabin).

We liked the rooms - we had 2 rooms the tropical room and the canal view room - both were amazing for their own decorative reasons. We did not stay for breakfast purley because we was not up early. However this hotel was ace and defincatly would stay here again.
We had 2 apartments accross the road from the hotel reception/bar. The stairs were a little of the steep side and the steps were actually quite small.

The hotel is very centrally located in centrum area and a short walk to the red light district. The facilties are very secure and the check-in process in the adjacent bar was a breeze. We departed prior to breakfast hours, but the staff did offer to make us something quickly. This is a great hotel if you are seeking nightlife, bar atmosphere, but I wouldn't recommend if you are looking for a quiet location.
Not really a complaint - just would note to other travellers that the hotel is not typically staffed from 1am until approx 8am, but we did not find this to be a problem. Also, breakfast is served from 9am to noon each day so if you have an early flight plan accordingly.

I thought everything about the hotel was great, it's location was excellent and the staff were extremely friendly and were willing to help with any queries that arose.
The church bells were a bit of a pain but once the window was shut it was hardly noticeable.

We stayed in the fluo room, didn't expect too much because of the price. Upon arriving in the room it was very clean, beds were comfy, nice themed room, comfy chairs. Was very impressed with the room and the guys down in the bar were friendly and helpful. Stayed in Amsterdam a few times before and this is the best for location, situated on the border of red light district/ dam square it's perfect to get around.

Location
Discusting, horrible, unsafe appartment near the church. Checked straight out and found a cleaner cheaper hotel just down the road. This place should be shut down!!!

The location of the hotel is great and within walking distance of many attractions. The staff are friendly and helpful and they have a nice range of rooms which are all themed to a degree. The rooms are clean and tidy and act as a good base while away. You can also smoke in the rooms which is a bonus

My adult son and I have stayed at the Greenhouse twice now and absolutely love it. It is central to all the Amsterdam activity and the staff are friendly and helpful.
There is only one key available per room. My son and I go out separately so it would be better if we could have a key each.
